Oxford Chronicle and Reading Gazette 14 March 1913 : Death of Mr Allison
The death of Mr William allison, late landlord of the Boat Inn, Thrupp, took place at the Lamb and Flag Inn, The Vineyard, Abingdon, on Friday last at the age of 59, Deceased had been ailing for some time, but had only kept his bed during the last fortnight. The funeral took place at Abingdon Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, when the Rev C S Thomas, senior curate, officiated. The coffin was polished oak with brass fittings, the funeral arrangements being carried out by Messrs Coxeter, Abingdonb.
The chief mourners were his widow, Messrs Walter and Harry Allison (sons), Mrs Morgan and Miss Ethel Allison (daughters), Mr C Piper (Oxford), Mrs Cowell (Cheshunt), Mrs Bateson, etc.
Deceased had only been landlord of the Lamb and Flag, Abingdon, for two months.
