Joseph Rose was my second great grandfather. He was born about 1833, married
Jemima Snowshall in 1864. They are listed on the 1871 Census as Inn Keeper
and wife with their four children. Joseph died in 1878, aged just 45. Jemima
then remarried Joseph Taylor. Joseph Taylor is listed on the 1881 Census as
Innkeeper and Fisherman at the Trout Inn, Tadpole, with his wife Jemima and
her children. There are also two new children. They were no longer owners of
the pub in 1891 as that Census lists Joseph as a Waterman and his wife as a
Laundress. *
