My third great grandfather, Thomas LUFF, had it for some time, giving it up about 1818, I believe. It was called the Broomhall Hutt earlier, although I believe it might have been Chequers under LUFF. *

There is good evidence the place was in the LUFF family since at least the 1770s. I believe (but cannot yet prove) Thomas' parents were Thomas LUFF and Hannah GODIN. There are Egham, Surrey, tax records that coincide with Hannah taking over after Thomas, Seniors, death, and then Thomas, Junior, taking over after Hannah's death. *
