My ancestor, Alexander Bragger who was once the licence holder of the
Sun,
Lisson street, Marylebone. He moved to Aylesbury where he owned The
Bricklayers Arms before taking over the
Red Lion in Swanbourne.

In the 1960s this pub was run by George & Jennie Shaw - relatives of mine.
George also worked as a toolmaker at a nearby printing firm, Hazell Watson &
Viney. *+
In the early 1970s the pub was taken over by the older of their two sons,
John. I'm not sure of the exact date, but I know that he was the publican in
April 1973, because my mother & stepfather celebrated their wedding in the
back room there. It was an ABC (Aylesbury Brewery Company) pub throughout
their tenancies. *+
