1916/Walter Farrance Williams/Manager/../../Kellys Directory

My grandfather, Percy James Hunt, ran the pub but unfortunately I do not have the exact dates. I think it would have been following Walter Farrance. My mother was born in 1907 and they were living there when she was at senior school in Cambridge and after she left school, when she used to deliver telegrams for the Post Office opposite the pub.
From that I think they would have been there from about 1918, I know they were living in Whittlesford in 1935 when my mother was married. *

My husband and I ran The George first as managers, followed by my husband Mike Wills becoming licensee untill his death in 1994. He is buried in Babraham churchyard. We lived and ran the Pub for 25 years.
I now live in Western Australia but had a meal there in July of this year when visiting family. Great memories. **
