Disturbance in Market Street
P.S. Stearn reports that he put a stop to a disturbance in Market Street at 12¼ o'clock. He saw
a Young Man named Smith who resides in the Crescent forced out of the Waggon and Horses kept by R. Stevens there were several other persons in the House that I saw come out directly
after, Smith says he shall lay an information against the Landlord for allowing card playing on
Sundays he says he has played from 9 o'clock on Saturday evening to 11 o’clock on Sunday morning.

P.C.12 Earl reports that the Waggon and Horses public house Market Street was open at 1 A.M. and 10 persons came out at that time Landlords name Stevens.
Sunday 17th to Monday 18th September 1837 *
Disturbance stopped
P.C. Ballard reports he put a stop to a disturbance at 12pm at the Waggon & Horses Market St - Stevens Landlord.
