CAMBRIDGE DIVISION PETTY SESSIONS
This was the adjourned day for licensing pablic-houses, and as all the complaints and applications had been transferred from the regular day. they were on this occasion decided.
Mr. Naylor applied for a license behalf of Mr. Richard Headly, the owner of the Chequers beer-house, Little Shelford, occupied by Sarah Mansfield. Mr. Gall, overseer, presented a memorial, signed by several of the inhabitants, against granting the license; and urged in support of the said memorial that the house was not required, that would be of no public advantage, and did not afford accommodation or stabling for travellers. A petition in favour of the grant was also produced, and the magistrates, after some consideration, gave the license.
