The 1861 census shows my 3 x great grandfather William Kelly as innkeeper,
and his eldest daughter Maria Pile Kelly 18 (my great great grandmother) as
the bar maid. By 1861 his first wife, Maria�s mother, had died and he had
remarried widow Mary Ann Perry (nee Sanders), whose husband Richard Perry
was the inn keeper in 1850. William Kelly is still the landlord in
1871, when he is listed as �Merchant & Innkeeper�. William died in 1880 and
in 1881 Mary Ann Kelly is still at the Royal George and described as
�publican�. *
