Francis Edward Foley has an interesting life, and a book has been published about his time spent in Germany. Frank Foley was recruited by MI6 as chief Passport Control Officer in Berlin under Lord Kilmarnock and through his work and under cover in this position he issued documents for the safe passage of some 10,000 people who would almost certainly have perished in the concentration camps. He has been compared to Oskar Schindler for everything he did even though many times he knew he was risking his life in the process. He is buried in Stourbridge Cemetery. *
