I m researching my partners' family tree, and have found that his Great
grandparents Carmino Trimarco and Elizabeth (nee Storer) are listed on the
1901 census as 'Lodging House keepers' of the Lord Nelson public house,
Wareham Dorset. However, by 1911, Elizabeth is a widow, still in Wareham but
occupation of a Fruiterer. We know Carmino died 1908, not yet why / how, and
that other Trimarcos also came from Italy to run pubs around Hampshire /
Surrey (e.g. The
Volunteer, 5 Market Street in Worthing was being run by Giovanni
Trimarco 1915. Interestingly, he met his wife Esther Moselle while she was
working as a translator in Guildford police station, where he was in
custody!)
Meanwhile, we know that other branches of the Trimarco family (all from an
earthquake devastated village called Senerchia) went to the USA and settled
in Chicago - eventually some were working alongside Al Capone, and are
buried in the same cemetary! **
