A listing of historical public houses, Taverns, Inns, Beer Houses and Hotels in Essex.

The Anchor, in Billericay was first mentioned in the 1615 survey of Billericay when owners were John Paprel & Henry Stephens; in 1706, they were Sam. Huggar & John Paperill; and in 1738, Sam. Huggar & John Paperill. It was last mentioned in an 1738 rental. By 1765 it had been divided into a Blacksmiths and a glaziers. It occupied the site later occupied by Bartons and S & D Supermarkets in 1962.
Before these properties were demolished, the site was occupied by North Sea House, a property composed of parts of many different periods, but partially Tudor.
