The Anchor, in Billericay was first mentioned in the 1615 survey of Billericay, and last mentioned in an 1738 rental. By 1765 it had been divided into a Blacksmiths and a glaziers. It occupied the site later occupied by Bartons and S & D Supermarkets in 1962.
Before these properties were demolished, the site was occupied by North Sea House, a property composed of parts of many different periods, but partially Tudor.
