To be sold by auction by John Gutteridge on Billericay, On Tuesday the 25th day of February 1783, at the Sign of the Cock, at Downham near Billericay, A Freehold Messuage or Tenement, by Ramsden Hreath, in the parish of Ramsden Bellhouse, now let as a grocers, at the yearly rent of 5 pounds 5 shillings per year, which consists of two good lower rooms, two good chambers, and two garrets, a very convenient brewhouse, stable and wood-house which has a large piece of garden ground, and a large yard containing together about half an acre.
The licensee in 1800 was recorded on the Alehouse Recognizances as William Dale, at the Cock, Downham.
