My mother & father managed it from 1954 to 1961; they were Cyril & Doris
Rennell. Originally it was a Taylor Walker Pub but they were taken over by Ind
Coope. *
During that period it was a thriving local pub with a good lunch time and
evening trade. The large hall hosted all types of events including weddings,
business meetings, Sunday night dances with a live band and West Ham Supporters
Club dances. The Masonic Hall above the Saloon Bar was the home of the local
Lodge. *
