James Burren junior (1843 - 1930) is my 2 × great grandfather, he is the youngest son of James Burren senior, at the Five Bells, Rochester and then the Blakeneys Head, St Bartholomew. Thomas Burren was initially at the Providence Inn, 162  Northgate Street, Canterbury ***

James Burren junior described himself as a victualler at Poplar at his marriage on 19 April 1873, but with no address for his premises – source marriage certificate ***

James Burren junior described himself as licensed victualler at the Northey Arms, Northey Street, Limehouse, at the birth of his son James Martin Burren on 25 November 1877 – source birth certificate – so presumably had taken over from (or working jointly with) his brother William John who was there in 1871 ***
