The Bulls Head, South Green, Billericay was first mentioned in deeds held at the Essex Record Office, and held as an Inn in 1712. In 1730, John James was admitted, and in 1758 Samuel Johnson was admitted by the will of John James to the property then described as formerly the Bulls Head.
