[ I am the Great Grandson of the publican Charles RICE. Charles RICE married Ann MITSON 25/9/1860 in Great Yeldham.

A History of Great Yeldham by Adrian Corder-Birch (ISBN 0 9513106 9 0 ) Has a bit of the history of the Great Yeldham pubs and a photo of The Three Bottles. He also states that the RICE Family were connected with Three Bottles for 120 years up to June 1953.

The 1851 Census for Great Yeldham shows that Thomas MITSON is living in Leather Street, GY and his occupation is Ostler. ] ***
