"In the Name of God Amen I Thomas French of Great Yeldham in the County of Essex Yeoman Do make and Declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say. First I Give and Devise to my Beloved Wife Ann ffrench... And Also All that my Messuage Tenement or Inn commonly called or known by the Name of the White Hart in Great Yeldham aforesaid with all and Singular the Houses Outhouses Lands Meadows and Pasture Grounds with their and Every of their Appurtenances to the Lands belonging To Hold to my Said Wife during her Natural Life and after her Descendants I Give and Devise the Said Messuage Tenements or Inn Lands and all and Singular the Appurtenances herein before mentioned <use> to my Son John ffrench and his Heirs for Ever."***
