At Chelmsford Petty Session, James Nunn, keeper of the the Dukes Head beer-house at Fryerning charged Thomas French with stealing a pair of bellows, a saucepan, and a pepperbox. The prisoner, a railroader, went to the hpuse for some beer, The stolen articles were found in the hat of a railroader named Peter Parsons, the prisoner said only took them for a lark, being intoxicated at the time.
