The Laindon Hotel in course of erection at Laindon is making good progress. A London syndicate has opened a brickyard near at hand for the manufacture of bricks, tiles etc; and things begin to look as if this remote district will, in the course of a year or two, become a neighbourhood of no small importance.

John Holman, hotel keeper, of Lindon was summoned for failing to obtain signed statements from Persons staying at the Laindon Hotel. Fined £10; and supplying beer in prohibited hours, fined £2.
F W Vickers of the Harrow Inn, North Benfleet, for a similar offence, pleaded Guilty, and was fined £10
