The death occurred on Saturday after an illness of 12 months, of Mr Frederick Heaton, aged 74, licensee of the Elephant & Castle public house, Newport. Deceased, who was born in Lancashire, spent some years at Rectory Farm, Needingworth, near St Ives before coming to Newport about 20 years ago. He was a brother of Mr Jesse Heaton, of Balletts Farm, Newport and two elder brothers live at Needingworth. He leaves a widow, one son, two daughters and a stepson.
