on 27 July 1872. *
Joseph Clements then ran the pub until at least 1876 (17 March 1876
Chelmsford Chronicle article). The pub burned down in 1872 (22 November 1872
Chelmsford Chronicle article) and was rebuilt (11 September 1874 Chelmsford
