Mary Large was licensee at the Red Lyon, Thorrington in 1776. Also known as the Lion. In 2020 it is now a community pub, and freehouse, and also serving meals. There were other pubs in Thorrington, including the Plough and Sail, and earlier the Cherry Tree; but now just the Red Lion exists.
