Chelmsford Chronicle. 02 March 1934
Full license for the Sultan public house, Sewardstone by Mr Franklin for a full licence, or alternatively for a wine licence.
The license was originally attached to a small beer house in a back street of the town. Last February, application was made for the removal of a licence to the premises to be erected in Sewardstone road. Messrs Whitbread are the owners, had erected a fine, modern public house with every convenience for food, drink and entertainment.
If the Bench agreed a monopoly value of £1,100 had been agreed upon.
Opposition said there were ten licenced houses within a quarter of a mile radius, in addition to an off licence, Licence Granted.
