It was established in 1872 as
the Prince of Wales, as a beer house, was substantially rebuilt in 1938 and
obtained a full licence in 1953. In 1970 it was renamed the Artful, in
1997 Central Station and in 2006 The East. In 2007 it was badly damaged in
an arson attack and the pub closed. **
