Friday 19 August 2022 - Stonegate Media:

The Rising Sun on Ashton Road, Bristol, is to use the August bank holiday weekend to host its annual summer party. The weekend will include a three-day Reggae Festival at the pub to see off the bank holiday in style.
Friday 26 August will see the venue kick off its weekend of fun with music from the ever-popular Clive Jose (CJ). Starting at 8.30pm, you’ll be able to enjoy a night full of entertainment as the pub invite you in to enjoy your favourite ballads long into the night. Throughout the night there will also be a balloon drop, with lots of mystery prizes, drinks and bar tabs to be won. On Saturday, the pub’s garden will host DJ Ronnie Clist from 1pm-7pm, playing all the best music to get you in the mood for a big night out. Followed up by a performance at 7pm from local band Station 2 Station, keeping you entertained throughout the evening. The weekend will wrap up on Sunday 28 August, with live music from Toby-Joe Reilly starting at 3pm in the pub’s spacious garden area. The pub also boasts sporting entertainment, with its pool table, darts board and skittle alley, which can also be used as a function room.
The party comes at the end of a busy summer for the Bristol-based pub, and with the start of the new football season and upcoming rugby season, it’s sure to remain a great place to watch live sport. With BT Sport and Sky Sports showing on the pub’s TVs and being located just down the road from Ashton Gate, this really is the go-to sports pub in the city.
To celebrate the Caribbean-style party, the pub will be offering its popular rum Dead Man’s Fingers on a special promotion throughout the bank holiday weekend.
Co-Operator at The Rising Sun Aaron Sullivan-Bissett said “We’re so excited to welcome our guests to the fun weekend that we have planned across the August bank holiday. A lot of planning has been put into place, to ensure that we have plenty to keep everyone entertained across the weekend.”
Fellow Operator Kodie Marshall added “We’re looking to surpass all other events to make this the biggest celebration possible. We hope to see you at The Rising Sun from Friday 26 August.” The Rising Sun is a traditional English pub, with a large beer garden area in which dogs are welcomed. The bar serves a range of beers, ciders and wines to suit all tastebuds.
