A complaint was made against a beerhouse called the Swansea House, in St. Aldate street, where disorderly characters frequently congregate. The landlord was fined 40 shillings and costs.

Gloucester Journal. 28 April 1860
David Davies and his wife of the Swansea beerhouse, in St. Aldate street were charged by Sergeant Ellison with drunken and riotous conduct in the streets at 3am that morning. The defenf=dants were fined 2 pounds each and costs.
