Mr Wm Alfred Glover to Mr John Cook.

This Indenture made the 10th day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty six. Between William Alfred Glover of Tetbury in the County of Gloucester Hat Manufacturer of the one part and John Cook of the same place Gentleman of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Five Shillings of lawful money of Great Britain to him the said William Alfred Glover in hand well and truly paid by the said John Cook at or immediately before the execution of those presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge He the said William Alfred Glover Hath bargained and sold And by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the said John Cook his Executors Administrators and assigns All those two several messuages or cottages situate in the Church Street in the Town of Tetbury aforesaid near adjoining to a certain messuage or tenement there of him the said William Alfred Glover on the East side thereof and close adjoining to a messuage or tenement or Inn and premises now the property of the said John Cook called the Eight Bells and bounded thereby on the North West and South sides thereof heretofore in the occupation of George Cleaver afterwards Daniel Trotman and since Sarah White and William Phillips together with all outhouses edifices buildings easements Profits commodities advantages and appurtances whatsoever to the said messuages or cottages and premises belonging in anywise appertaining Provided nevertheless and is expressly agreed and declared by and between them the said William Alfred Glover and John Cook that the said John Cook his Executors Administrators or assigns or any other person or persons whomsoever owner or occupier for the time being of the said cottages or tenements and premises or either of them or any part or parts of either of them
shall not have use or be entitled to any right of Road Way or Passage to the said messuages or cottages and premises by or through the Yard or any other part of the premises of the said William Alfred Glover so adjoining the said messuages or cottages and premises hereby bargained and sold upon any occasion or under any preference whatsoever. And the revision and revisions remainder and remainders yearly and other rents issues and profits of all and singular the said premises to have and to hold the said messuages cottages hereditaments and all and singular other the premises hereby bargained and sold or intended to be with the appurtenances unto the said John Cook his executors administrators and assigns from the day next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended yielding and paying therefore at the end of the said term unto him the said William Alfred Glover his heirs or assigns the rent of one pepper corn if the same shall lawfully be demanded. To the intent and purpose nevertheless that by virtue of these presents and by force of the Statute made for transferring uses into possession the said John Cook may be in the full and actual possession of the said messuages or cottages hereditments and all singular other the premises hereditments mentioned and hereby bargained and sold or intended so to be with their appurtenances and may be thereby enabled to take and accept of a good and sufficient grant release and confirmation of the same to him and his heirs for ever. To such uses upon such trusts and to and for such ends intents and purposes as and mentioned expressed and declared in and by a certain Indenture of Release already prepared and intended to bear date and day next after the day of the date of these presents and to be made between the said William Alfred Glover of the first part the said John Cook of the second part and William Maskelyne of Tetbury aforesaid Gentleman of the third part. In Witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above mentioned.

Signed sealed and delivered by the within names William Alfred Glover being first duly stamped in the presence of Jas Mathews, Geo Lloyd Clerks to Mr Maskelyne, Tetbury.
