Extensive research into the exact location of this Inn has been inconclusive, however, it is highly probably that the Horse Collar was either demolished or incorporated into the Warn's Barton Steam Brewery when the business expanded during the middle of the 19th century The Warn family continued to use a Horse Collar trade mark until the company went into liquidation in 1931 Acquired by the Stroud Brewery Company Limited, Stroud, Gloucestershire. *

LARCENY BY A BREWERY COOPER
Saturday April 18 1908
On Saturday, a cooper in the employ of the Messrs Warn and Sons of the
Barton Brewery (Tetbury) was brought before Erskine Pollock Esq, KC, in the
chair, and TS Crew, Esq, charged with stealing a bottle of wine, the
property of his employers Another charge against the prisoner was not gone
into After his arrest, a search warrant was obtained, and in his house were
found a number of bottles - some sixteen or eighteen in number - mostly
empty, but some of them with the remains of their contents in them These
were produced in the police court at the hearing of the case On the
particular charge preferred, Mr Charles Warn, a member of the firm, deposed
that after watching the prisoner for some time, he saw him secrete a bottle
in the ashes under the fire grate of his workshop Later, at the office, he
practically made a confession of having received at various times bottles of
drinkables which were handed to him by another employee who had access to
the cellar Prisoner begged for leniency Both Mr Warn and Mr HL Taylor,
another member of the firm, gave the prisoner a good character, especially
as an excellent workman They did not wish to press the case or to act
vindictively against the prisoner, especially as he had a wife and a family
of small children
They wished his case, however, to be dealt with as a warning to others The
prisoner pleaded guilty, and the Bench committed him to prison for 21 days
hard labour
