In 1841, an ag labourer in Beeding, in 1851 a gamekeeper, in Rudgwick; and a farm bailiff in 1861 at Slinfield. By 1871, he is a victualler, at the Bridge Inn, Shoreham; in 1881, an Inn Keeper at Petersfield, Hampshire; and latterly by 1885 at the Black Dog, Emsworth, and again by 1898 at the Ship Inn, Emsworth. ***
