Hampshire Advertiser 03 March 1877 - Illegal hours - Thomas Batchen of the Euphrates Arms, Fyning street, Landport, was summoned at the instance of the chief constable for selling a quart of beer at fifty minutes past 11 on the night of the 20th of February. The case was proved and defendant was fines 20shillings including costs, which he paid.
