When they married in April 1882, Emily was a domestic at the house of Edwin Black-Hawkins, a brewer; who gave them a nice clock, engraved, for a wedding present ( still got it). We think they were given Halfway inn as a start to their innkeeper career.
The birth certificate of their first son William Harry Jordan was on 4th September 1883 to Henry Jordan and Emily Jordan (Formerly Ham). Their addrss is listed as Halfway, Welford. Henry is an Inn Keeper. My great grandfather and mother ran this until 1884/5.
Henry James Jordan and Emily Jane Jordan went to Canada about 1887/8 ; where my gran was born in 1888 (Evelyn Jane Jordan ).
They returned in 1891 and then ran another inn at Newtown, the Swan inn. By 1901, Emily Jordan is a widow at the Swan Inn. *
