Portsmouth pubs history index
The Fountain Inn, High Street exists from at least 1768. On the 12th January 1874, it was the Portsmouth Institute and Home for Soldiers, founded by Sarah Robinson In 1915 it was taken over by YMCA until 1966. Demolished in 1970 for the building of Fountain court.
