In 1884 this Hotel was called the Oxford Temperance Hotel; it then had name change to Alliance Hotel, in the early 1980�s it was known as Tudor Hotel, another name changed came about in 1985 the new name was New Oxford Hotel. It received its first license on 17th April 1967. Now a Tavern and Dining Room, to mark the centenary of the Titanic�s fateful maiden voyage and the links Oxford Street the had with the Titanic, it changed its name to The White Star. *
