In 1884 this Hotel was called the Oxford Temperance Hotel; it then had name change to Alliance Hotel, in the early 1980ís it was known as Tudor Hotel, another name changed came about in 1985 the new name was New Oxford Hotel. It received its first license on 17th April 1967. Now a Tavern and Dining Room, to mark the centenary of the Titanicís fateful maiden voyage and the links Oxford Street the had with the Titanic, it changed its name to The White Star. *
