Southampton pub history index
At Chandos Street in 1878 and earlier; at 20 Eldon Terrace in 1881 census. This Beer House was leased to Eldridge Popes Dorchester Brewery in 1875 but the site dates back to the 1840s when a James Cave a brewer and coach painter was landlord. The pub had a refurbishment in 1994 to bring the decor into line with the age of the building; it closed in 2006 and was demolished to be replaced by housing. *
