This pub was built on the site of the old Andover Inn, Wellington Road (the old name of Wolseley Road) which dates back to the 1850�s when a one George Early was landlord, changing its name to the Anchor & Hope in the 1870�s, it was rebuilt in the early 1900�s when it was owned by Barlow�s Victoria Brewery, it became a Brickwood�s Brewery pub when they acquired Barlow�s; becoming a Whitbread�s Brewery in 1971 when they purchased Brickwood�s in 1971. It closed in 2011 and has since been converted into a Co-Op convenience store. *
