The pub can be seen behind the car parked alongside the Exeter
Hotel. In the 1860’s the pub,
was, listed as a beer house, with a Arthur Chandler as the landlord. The premise
was rebuilt in 1914 by the Winchester Brewery, before being taken over by
Marston’s Brewery with whom it remained until it was closed in 1964, It suffered
the same fate as the Exeter Hotel, being demolished and replaced by a Multi
Storey NCP Car Park. *
