Matthew Reynolds was the landlord in the 1870ís when this pub, owned by the Winchester Brewery, then originally called the Stag Inn before changing its name to the present one around 1890. It was bought by Marstonís Brewery in the early 1900ís. October 1916 saw Landlady Olive Fleming fined £1 for selling intoxicating liquor outside the permitted hours. Closed spring 2012. *
