Matthew Reynolds was the landlord in the 1870�s when this pub, owned by the Winchester Brewery, then originally called the Stag Inn before changing its name to the present one around 1890. It was bought by Marston�s Brewery in the early 1900�s. October 1916 saw Landlady Olive Fleming fined �1 for selling intoxicating liquor outside the permitted hours. Closed spring 2012. *
