The premise is listed as a beer house in the 1830�s, a George Evans is recorded as Landlord, In it�s early years. The Pub appears to be privately owned, however by 1934 the Pub was under the ownership of Brickwood�s Brewery before being sold to Whitbread�s in 1971. It gained a full Licence on 8th March 1960; It closed on 21st November 1977 was demolished and replaced by an office block. January 1920 found the then landlord W Kimber being fined �20 for selling intoxicating liquor outside permitted hours. *
