The premise is listed as a beer house in the 1830’s, a George Evans is recorded as Landlord, In it’s early years. The Pub appears to be privately owned, however by 1934 the Pub was under the ownership of Brickwood’s Brewery before being sold to Whitbread’s in 1971. It gained a full Licence on 8th March 1960; It closed on 21st November 1977 was demolished and replaced by an office block. January 1920 found the then landlord W Kimber being fined £20 for selling intoxicating liquor outside permitted hours. *
