Dating back to the early1850’s when Jane Ward was the recorded as the Landlady this old pub which used to be owned by Barlow’s Victoria Brewery but was taken over by Brickwood’s Brewery in 1925. It closed in the 1930’s when slum clearance and redevelopment of the area took place. *
