In 1863 the premises were leased by the Bishop of Winchester to a John Snook, in 1902 the pub was taken over by Crowley’s Alton Brewery under whose ownership it remained until 1947 when Watney’s Brewery took it over. The 1950’s saw the redevelopment of the area with the pub being demolished to make way for flats. *
May 1903 saw Mr Whyte the landlord being fined £2 for selling intoxicating liquor outside permitted hours and in April 1909, Mr Weeks the landlord was fined 10/- for selling drink to a drunken person. *
