A James Light was landlord of this pub in the 1860’s, It was owned by the Scrase’s Star Brewery in the early 1900’s before passing to Strong’s Romsey Brewery on their acquisition of Scrase’s Star Brewery, it was however refused a licence in 1932 for which Strong’s received £865 6s 8d compensation. It then became a private residence until being demolished in the 1960’s; the site is now occupied by The Jury’s Inn Charlotte. *
