A pub stood on that site from the mid 1800s, during the blitz it was destroyed and site left vacant. The site remains undeveloped to the present day, it’s one of the very few WW2 bomb sites left untouched in the city.

His predecessor was Harry Campbell as reported in the Hampshire Advertiser on 8 September 1934. His previous pub was the Falcon Inn, Northam Road which was transferred to Albert Edward Harper on the same date.
