This 1860’s Forder’s Hampton Court , a William Watts was landlord at this time, in 1925 Brickwood’s Brewery took over the pub which in 1971 became a Whitbread’s Brewery pub, it closed on 25th January 1981. * The building remains today, alongside the new business centre, but now a provate residence. **
March 1920 saw landlady Bessie Vere fined £50 for selling over priced whiskey from an unmarked bottle. *

My mother, Betty Cunningham, was the only barmaid in this pub and worked
there for some 8 years before it's closure in 1981. The Landlords names were
Eric and Eadie (I do not remember the surname), the pub closed when they
retired from the pub business. **
