Being built in by Strong’s Romsey Brewery to replace the Brewery Bar which suffered severe bomb damage during WW2, it was opened by its name sake Lord Louis Mountbatten in 1960. It was taken over by Whitbread’s Brewery Group in 1969 on their acquisition of Strong’s Brewery, it closed in 1987 and was demolished shortly afterwards to be replaced by the Marland’s Shopping Centre. *
