The original beer house that sat on this site opened in 1845, being called the Park Inn, it was owned by the Phoenix Brewery, before being owned by Crowley�s Alton Brewery finally being taken over by Watney�s Brewery in 1947, although the original building survived the 2nd War World unscathed it was demolished and rebuilt in the late 1950�s, having a downstairs bar and an upstairs bar, it was granted a full license in 1958, refurbished in 1986 and reopening with the name of Scullard�s, however this did not last long as it closed in 1990 and was converted as can be seen in the photo to a Ladbrokes betting shop. *
