My grandad "Dave Tug Wilson" The Cousin of George Wilson run the pub with his wife Betty from around the late 50s to 1985. I spent many nights sleeping upstairs as a child while the family was downstairs drinking. My Grandad Dave got George and Betty the job as landlord through the local brewery Simpsons of Baldock who were supplying the pub beer and ales at the time. My Grandad was the Landlord of The Yorkshire Grey in Stevenage and helped teach George and Betty the trade before they started the job. *+
