Ray Clemence used his famous goalkeeping hands for charitable purposes at the Bakers Arms, Bayford, last week, to present two cheques, together worth over £1200, to Mrs Ann Carlisle, of Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital, London.
The money is the result of a fancy dress wheelbarrow race staged last month between teams from the Beehive, Epping Green and the Bakers Arms.
The route took in many local public houses and the race itself was organised by Mr David Banham.
The Beehive's collective total came to £585 and the Bakers Arms to £630.
