The show-stopping Good Companion in Borehamwood has reopened, as it welcomes customers back following a £173,000 refurbishment.
The popular pub is situated in the middle of Borehamwood, North West London, an area which is famous for its film and TV studios which are commonly known as Elstree Studios. Since 1914, the town has been home to several film studios and many shots of its streets are included in the final cuts of 20th-century British films. The Good Companion as it is now known used to be called the Wishing Well and it has held its place on Borehamwood high street since 2001.
Receiving a fresh facelift and revamp, the venue’s new look interior sees its seating areas refurbished giving a new lease of life to the traditional style pub.
With a number of large TVs throughout all areas of the pub, there’s no better place in town to catch all of the best sporting action live with your friends and family, as The Good Companion gets ready for the start of the new football season, with nearby Watford kicking off their Championship campaign. Also entertaining guests, will be the venue’s freshly updated darts area, with an illuminated dartboard and pool table to create the perfect opportunity for a little competition between friends.
Externally the pub’s garden area has seen new seating added, new flooring and fresh planting to freshen up the look of the outdoor offering, allowing guests to socialise whilst enjoying the summer sun in the heart of Borehamwood.
The Good Companion is open everyday from 11am making it the perfect venue to pop in and have a refreshing drink this summer. The bar stocks quality beers, wines and spirits with well-known local, national and international names available to guests. The drinks menus also feature a good choice of barista-style hot drinks and an interesting range of low and no-alcohol drinks too.
Whether popping in for one of the pubs popular darts nights, Thursday night pool league fixtures or their Friday night DJ sets or live music on Saturdays from 8.30pm there really is something for everyone at The Good Companion.
The pub will also be hosting a launch weekend from Thursday 4 August, with a Charity Night kicking off the celebrations, followed up by a Casino Night and 70’s Disco Night with DJ and fancy dress to really kick off the pub’s refurbishment in style.
