From Inventory documents I can confirm that William Francis Owen took over as Landlord of the Rose & Crown, Essendon, on 6th October, 1928. He took over from a Mr A.D. Smith.

He died 23 August, 1948; and it was transferred to his son Harry Francis Owen on 21 February 1949.
It next changed hands on the 2nd February, 1967 when W.A. Thomas became Landlord. ***
