My grandfather, Mr William Pummell had the licence from 1916 until his death
in 1920. Then from 1920 his son in law, Mr Gus Hill and his wife Elizabeth
(nee Pummell) held the Licence. Following Uncle Gus's death in the 1950's,
the widow Mrs Elizabeth Hill (my Aunt Bet} solely held the licence for about
10 years. As a child I lived at The Grapes to escape the bombing during WW2.
